Ian Schrager and Marriott Hotels have come together again for the Istanbul Edition, a well appointed hotel that aims to have top-notch service and the cool factor that can only come from Schrager’s magic touch
Edition, the new lifestyle hotel brand from Marriott and creative adviser Ian Schrager, will open a new property in İstanbul in April.
It follows on from the Waikiki Edition, launched last October, which was awarded the AAA 4-Diamond.
Located in the Levent district, where the Kanyon mall is situated, the 13-storey Istanbul Edition blends east and west. There is a domed lobby, inspired by the Ottoman style, and mosaic tiles are present through much of the property. The guest rooms themselves feature rosewood or soaped oak walls, ceilings and ﬂoors.
There are 77 suites averaging 480 ft² and a full-ﬂoor penthouse. Some have terraces that overlook İstanbul’s skyline.
The Istanbul Edition promises to be unique, with a personality drawn from the location. The company promises excellent service to complement the design, saying, ‘Now there is no need to sacriﬁce service to stay at the coolest place in town.’
The hotel has a Cipriani restaurant, a 20,000 ft² spa by Espa with indoor swimming pool, Gold Bar, a drawing room, private screening room, nightclub and a 3,000 ft² event space.
